SC10 "Into The Blue: The Endless Fight Between The Sea and Men" 25.08-03.09 2010
This course is the biggest external event that LBG Ankara organised. The main organiser was Koray Kaan ÖZDEMİR. The aim of the course was to introduce the concept of Coastal Engineering, to state the importance of coasts and the structures and to introduce the Turkish coasts to the participants. Participants had lectures by Prof. Dr. Ayşen ERGİN, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevdet YALÇINER, Research Assistant Yaprak ONAT, Research Assistant Cüneyt BAYKAL, Project Asistant Mustafa ESEN ve Project Asistant Koray Kaan ÖZDEMİR. 57 people which 38 of them were participants and guests from all over Europe and 19 of them were Turkish organisers started from Ankara and followed the Fethiye-Dalyan-Bodrum-Kuşadası route. The participants visited Fethiye Dead Sea, Channels of Dalyan, Bodrum Milta Marina and Turgutreis D-Marin for technical trips.
Despite the lectures, organisers presented social nights, parties and boat tours. Another fun fact is that, participants are recorded on Turkish TV while having fun on the beach. Some of them had chance to sing and interview on the show.

SC08: Historical Buildings and Cultural Heritage (17-27 June 2008)
SC08 was the second summer course of LBG Ankara and the main organizer was Hasan Özhan Coşkun. There were 15 organizers and 2 co-organizers from France and Spain. During our course our academican from civil engineering department Prof.Dr. Erhan Karaesmen helped us very much. Some academicans from civil engineering and architecture gave lectures to our participants about our valuable historical buildings. In our course we organized trips to Amasra, Kapadokya and Safranbolu and with these trips participants have the opportunity to see our beautiful historical buildings. Also we have organized a wine night like our previous summer course. This year Kavaklıdere was our sponsor again in this event. In this wine night Chairmans from our university and also the companies that helped us come together. We have made them presentations about BEST Ankara and give them our appreciation certificates. At the end of our course we made exam, which are prepared by our academicans, to our participants. And all of them pass from this exam successfully... So the last day of our course we gave them a achievement certificate. Also at the last day we gave the memory books that we have prepared to each participant to make our lovely moments unforgettable.
BEST Ankara Robotic Days (17-24 March 2008)
METU Robotic Community was organizing Robotic Days for 5 years nationally and we want to make this event international as BEST Ankara. This event took place in 17-24 march 2008 and 25 participants from all over europe had participated in this event. First 3 days of the organization proffesors from our university who are assoc.prof.dr. İlhan Konukseven and assoc.prof.dr. Bugra Koku trained our participants about robots and electronic circuits. And after these trainings participants have fun with games and parties. At the last three days of the event they compete with the robots they made and Ferran Gascon from Barcelona became second with his robot.
SC (Summer Course) 07
“Enjoy Red & White" was the first summer course of LBG Ankara which was organized in 12-22 June 2007. 20 students from all over Europe attended this event and it was about wine. Lectures about wine fermentation, wine processing and kinds of wines were given to the students by our professors. We organized a technical trip to Kalecik Wine factory and Capadocia and also a trip to Amasra to show our beautiful country to our guests better. We organized a “Wine Night” in which we invite the sponsor companies, our teachers and also our participants. In that night we gave the appreciation certificates to our professors and company representatives. And we planned to organize this Wine Night traditionally after our every event.
